Metro North Christmas 2015 Service Plan
Here is the Metro-North Railroad service plan info for Christmas 2015:
MTA Metro‐North Railroad wants to help you celebrate the most wonderful time of the year by providing all the service you’ll need for the upcoming holidays.
Look for a Christmas/New Year’s Eve Holiday Timetable in Grand Central or at outlying stations. Or visit our schedules page for train times.
Christmas Eve: Thursday, December 24
Metro‐North will be on a regular weekday schedule with 18 additional early getaway trains (five on the Hudson Line, three on the Harlem Line and 10 on the New Haven Line) departing Grand Central Terminal between noon and 4:10 p.m.
In addition to regular West of Hudson service, Metro‐North will provide two early getaway trains.
On the Port Jervis Line, a train departs Hoboken at 2:41 PM (Penn Station‐ NY at 2:29 p.m., arriving at Secaucus at 2:38 p.m.).
The 6:13 PM from Hoboken (6:03 PM from Penn Station‐NY) will not operate due to decreased ridership.
On the Pascack Valley Line, the Friday‐only train that departs Hoboken at 2:58 p.m. (Penn Station‐NY at 2:51 p.m., arriving at Secaucus at 3:01 p.m.) will operate on Thurs., Dec. 24.
Also, the 7:20 p.m. from Hoboken (7:13 p.m. from Penn Station‐NY) will not operate.
Christmas Day: Friday, December 25
Due to lighter ridership Christmas Day, Metro‐North will provide hourly service on all East of Hudson lines. A weekend schedule will be in effect for West of Hudson service.
Day after Christmas: Saturday, December 26
Metro‐North will run a regular Saturday schedule with Shoppers’ Specials trains on the Hudson and New Haven Lines. A weekend schedule will be in effect for West of Hudson service.
Pinstripe Bowl on Saturday, December 26 at Yankee Stadium
Indiana Hoosiers vs. Duke Blue Devils college football game at 3:30 p.m. Shuttle service will be provided between Grand Central, Harlem‐125th Street and Yankees‐East 153rd Street stations. Click here for more information, including schedules and fares.
Monday‐Wednesday, December 28‐30
Metro‐North will provide a weekday schedule with additional trains to Grand Central Terminal on all East of Hudson lines during our heaviest travel times (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.). With lighter ridership during the peak periods this week, some morning rush hour trains are canceled or combined to free up trains and crews for these additional trains.
