FASTRACK Comes To The F

NYC Transit’s FASTRACK will be coming to the F Train' next week as the line will be rerouted between Manhattan & Brooklyn. Here are complete details via the press release I received:

MTA New York City Transit brings FASTRACK to the [F] line in lower Manhattan and downtown Brooklyn. [F] trains will be rerouted via the [A] line in both directions between West 4th Street and Jay Street-MetroTech from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for four consecutive weeknights from Monday, December 2 to early Friday morning, December 6. There will be no [F] train service at Broadway-Lafayette Street, 2nd Avenue, Delancey Street, East Broadway and York Street. Free shuttle buses, [D] and [J] trains provide alternate service.

Travel Alternatives in Manhattan:
Buses operate between Broadway-Lafayette Street and East Broadway, making station stops at 2nd Avenue and Delancey Street. Customers may use the [D] to connect with shuttle buses at Broadway-Lafayette Street. They may also transfer between [D] and [F] trains at West 4th Street. At Fulton Street, transfers are available to the [4] and the [J].

Travel Alternatives in Brooklyn:
Free shuttle buses operate between York Street and Jay Street-MetroTech. Customers may transfer between free shuttle buses and [F] trains at Jay Street-MetroTech. York Street customers may also use the High Street [A] station.

Alternative transportation options will be detailed in announcements and posters on trains, in stations and on selected buses; brochures will be available in both English and Spanish. Information on this FASTRACK is available on the web at http://web.mta.info/nyct/service/fastrack_F.htm.

NYC Transit Thanksgiving 2013 Service Plan

Lastly here is the official Thanksgiving 2013 service plan for NYC Transit:

New York City subways and buses will operate on a Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving Day. The closest subway stations to the start of the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade are the 1 at 79th Street and the C at 81st Street. There will be additional service on the 42nd Street Shuttle S as well as increased early morning service on the 1 line. A number of bus routes will be impacted by the parade, and details will be provided at www.mta.info under “Service Status.” On Black Friday, November 29, service will operate on a weekday schedule with some exceptions listed at MTA.info.

LIRR Thanksgiving 2013 Service Plan

Here is the official Thanksgiving holiday service plan for the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR):

With the beginning of the long Thanksgiving Weekend, MTA Long Island Rail Road is ready with additional train service to get travelers where they want to go and off-peak ticket pricing
they will find very attractive.

Extra Trains for the Extended Four Day Weekend:

The extra trains start rolling on Thanksgiving Eve Wednesday, November 27 with extra afternoon eastbound trains to handle the expected getaway day rush home. On Thanksgiving Day, there are extra trains to get you to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and extra trains to get you home when the festivities are over. There will be extra trains on Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1 as well, making travel to and from New York City, a snap for shopping, dining and entertainment.

Off-Peak Fares in Effect Thursday thru Sunday:

As a holiday bonus, the LIRR will offer tickets at off-peak prices over the four-day weekend from Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28 through Sunday, December 1. Additionally, the Railroad’s Family Fare Discount will be in effect all four days. That means kids ages 5-11 (limit of 4 children) can ride one-way for $1 when accompanied by a fare paying parent or guardian. However, those tickets must be purchased before you board the train. Weekly and monthly ticket holders pay just for the kids and, as always, children under 5 ride free.

Regular Weekday Schedule on Black Friday:

On Black Friday, November 29, one of the busiest shopping days of the year, the LIRR will run on a regular weekday schedule, but tickets purchased that day will be sold at the lower, off-peak
fares.

Extra Service on Weekends through January 5:

Additionally, the Thanksgiving weekend marks the start of extra weekend trains to and from Manhattan to meet the holiday season demand. The special weekend service will be available over the weekends of December 7-8, December 14-15, December 21-22, December 28-29 and January 4-5.

Reminder to Port Washington Branch Customers – Trains Every 30 Minutes:

Trains are once again running every 30 minutes on Saturday and Sunday between Port Washington and Penn Station, a permanent service enhancement that arrived just in time for holiday travel.

The 2:32 PM train express to Lynbrook, then all stops to Babylon,

The 2:08 PM train stopping at Jamaica, Mineola, then all stops to Huntington.

The 2:29 PM train stopping at Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Jamaica, New Hyde Park, then all stops to Huntington.

The 3:24 PM train stopping at Jamaica, Mineola, Westbury and Hicksville.

Port Washington Branch:

The 3:40 PM train stopping at Woodside, Flushing/Main St., then all stops to Great Neck

Far Rockaway Branch:

The 3:48 PM express to Locust Manor, then all stops to Far Rockaway.

Montauk Branch:

The 4:06 PM train express to Westhampton, then stopping at Southampton, Bridgehampton, East Hampton and Montauk

Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28:

Throughout Thanksgiving Day, a holiday schedule will be in effect. A total of 17 extra trains are being added to the holiday schedule for those attending the Thanksgiving Day Parade or visiting
families – including 6 extra westbound and 11 extra eastbound trains. Cars will also be added to select trains to accommodate holiday travelers.

Westbound – 6 Extra Trains Heading into Penn Station –

Babylon Branch:

The 6:49 AM train from Babylon, making all stops to Rockville Center, then Jamaica and Penn Station.

The 7:18 AM train from Babylon, making all stops to Rockville Centre, then Jamaica and Penn Station.

Huntington/Port Jefferson Branch:

The 6:01 AM train from Port Jefferson making all stops to Huntington, then stopping at Jamaica and Penn Station.

Ronkonkoma Branch:

The 6:10 AM train from Ronkonkoma, making all stops to Hicksville, then Jamaica, Woodside and Penn Station.

The 7:10 AM train from Ronkonkoma, making all stops to Hicksville, then Jamaica, Woodside and Penn Station.

Montauk Branch:

The 6:44 AM train from Speonk, making all stops to Babylon, Jamaica and Penn Station.

Eastbound – 11 Extra Trains Departing from Penn Station –

The 11:40 AM, 12:09 PM, 12:40 PM and 1:09 PM trains from Penn Station stopping at Jamaica, Rockville Centre, then all local stops to Babylon.

The 1:32 PM train from Penn Station, stopping at Woodside, Jamaica, Hicksville, Bethpage, Farmingdale, then all stops to Ronkonkoma, except Pinelawn.

Black Friday, November 29:

LIRR trains will operate on a normal weekday schedule on Friday, November 29 with Off-Peak fares in effect the entire day.

Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1:

The LIRR will add four westbound trains and six eastbound trains to its regular weekend schedule on Saturday, November30 and Sunday, December 1 and continue to offer the enhanced train service for five additional weekends to make travel to and from the city more convenient for shopping, dining and entertainment. Those weekends are December 7-8, December 14-15, December 21-22 and December 28-29 and January 4-5. The extra weekend trains are as follows:

Long Beach Branch:

Westbound

The 8:56 AM, 9:56 AM, 10:56 AM and 11:56 AM trains from Long Beach making all local stops to Jamaica then express to Penn Station.

Eastbound

The 4:25 PM, 5:15 PM, 6:15 PM and 7:15 PM trains from Penn Station, stopping at Jamaica and making all local stops to Long Beach.

Babylon Branch:

Eastbound

The 1:13 AM from Penn Station, stopping at Jamaica, Rockville Centre and then all stops to Babylon

Port Jefferson Branch:

Eastbound

The 2:44 AM from Penn Station stopping at Jamaica, New Hyde Park, then all stops to Huntington.
