LIRR Anticipates Normal PM Rush Service
Sorry for being quiet the last few hours. I was outside cleaning up my driveway & the front of my house. Anyhow, just a couple of minutes ago, I received a press release from the LIRR in which they anticipate normal PM rush hour service:
The LIRR is planning to operate a normal evening rush hour schedule, though due to the effects of the storm, three train cancellations and one partial cancellation, will be necessary. On the East End, train service will remain suspended east of Speonk on the Montauk Branch and east of Ronkonkoma on the Main Line to Greenport until the tracks can be cleared. Restoration of train service between Speonk and Montauk is anticipated after tonight’s evening rush hour.
The canceled trains include:
Port Jefferson Branch:
• The 5:29 PM from Atlantic Terminal to due to arrive in Huntington at 6:28 PM.
—
Ronkonkoma Branch:
• The 5:29 PM train from Hunterspoint Avenue to Ronkonkoma will instead originate at Jamaica Station at 5:47 PM. Buses replace trains between Ronkonkoma and Greenport.
—
Oyster Bay Branch:
• The 6:00 PM train from Jamaica scheduled to arrive in Oyster Bay at 6:58 PM.
—
Montauk Branch:
• The 6:13 PM train from Jamaica scheduled to arrive in Montauk at 9:07 PM.
• Buses replace trains between Speonk and Montauk

LIRR Montauk Service Update
Here is the latest info on Montauk Branch service which is resuming between Babylon & Speonk but remains suspended between Speonk & Montauk:
LIRR service between Babylon and Speonk will resume with the 8:52 AM train from Jamaica, scheduled to arrive in Patchogue at 9:56 AM. The first westbound train to operate is the 10:34 AM train from Patchogue, due in Babylon at 11:04 AM. Service remains suspended in both directions between Speonk and Montauk.
Service that is currently running especially the Ronkonkoma branch continues to have delays as trains are having a lot of trouble generating much speed & traction. So plan for extra travel time & if you can, stay home.

More LIRR Service Suspensions
Suffolk County is clearly the area being hardest hit with the storm as it continues to cause trouble on the LIRR. The agency has had to suspend more service. Here is the latest:
Montauk Branch: As a result of the snowfall from the Nor’easter, the MTA Long Island Rail Road has temporarily suspended train service in both directions on the Montauk Branch between Speonk and Montauk. To accommodate customers, bus service will replace trains.
Oyster Bay: LIRR service is currently suspended in both directions on the Oyster Bay Branch due to weather-related problems.
Overall trains are moving slowly as one would expect. This is especially the case on the Ronkonkoma line where trains are not even reaching 20mph as they head westbound.
