Downtime….

I would like to take a moment & apologize for the downtime of the blog. Unfortunately due to being extremely tied up with other personal & business matters, I could not deal with the downtime until this past weekend. I look forward to getting back into the saddle & writing about all things related to mass transit in our region. Thank you for all of your support.

Service Diversions 10-16-10

I just updated the “Service Diversions” page by removing all of the scheduled work that wrapped up by 11:59 PM last night. The weekend diversions which I posted yesterday morning have now moved to the top followed by the subsequent work during the week.

I suggest you print out a copy of the page to carry with you or use any mobile device to access the phone-friendly version of Transit Blogger. The next update will be on Monday at 5:01 AM when the weekend work scheduled to wrap up by 5 AM is removed. Everyone have a wonderful weekend & as always stay safe!

Fulton Transit Center October Work Schedule

I apologize for not posting this earlier as I simply forgot to do so. Early Friday afternoon, the MTA kept up with recent tradition by releasing a monthly work schedule for the Fulton Transit Center. Here are the complete details:

Due to ongoing construction of the Fulton Street Transit Center, the following service changes will be in effect for weekends in October:

October 2-4, 9-11 and 16-18:

A Train and C Train trains bypass Fulton St/Broadway-Nassau St. in both directions.

• No transfers between the A Train, C Train, 2 Train, 3 Train, 4 Train, and 5 Train at Fulton St/Broadway-Nassau St.

October 23-25:

• Brooklyn-bound A Train and C Train trains bypass Fulton St/Broadway-Nassau St

• Manhattan-bound A Train and C Train trains run on the F line from Jay Street to West 4th Street.

October 30-November 1:

• Normal service.

Customers traveling from Fulton St. to uptown Manhattan may take the 2 or 4 trains at Fulton St. or go to the nearby Chambers St/World Trade Center station, take the E to West 4th Street and connect to uptown A and C trains. Customers traveling from Fulton St. to Brooklyn may take the 2 or 4 at Fulton St. or take the A or C at the nearby Chambers Street A, C station.

I just updated the “Service Diversions” page with the latest diversions for this weekend, next week, & beyond in some cases. The next update will be sometime after 5:01 AM Saturday when all of the week work scheduled to wrap up by 11:59 PM tonight is removed & the weekend ones are moved up to the front.

Also for riders in Northern Manhattan & the Bronx who depend on the 1 Train Train, please read this entry with information on the continuation of a $47M major renovation project that will last until 2012.
