Substitute Bus Service On Port Jervis Line

This weekend buses will be replacing trains on the Port Jervis line between Middletown & Port Jervis. Here is more via the official press release I received:

To accommodate work replacing bridge timbers on Port Jervis’ East Main Street bridge, station maintenance and track welding, busing will be in effect between Port Jervis and Middletown for select trains starting on Saturday, June 25, at 12:01 a.m. through Sunday, June 26. Buses will stop at Port Jervis and Otisville stations, and will connect with the trains at Middletown station, and will follow train schedules.

Regular westbound service will resume Sunday with the 7:51 p.m. train leaving Middletown. Regular eastbound service will resume on Monday, June 27 with the 3:50 a.m. train to Port Jervis.

Substitute bus service will be provided for the following trains:

Eastbound: Buses will replace trains departing from Port Jervis to Middletown at:

• 4:45 a.m.

• 7:24 a.m.

• 8:44 a.m.

• 10:44 a.m.

• 3:05 p.m.

• 5:27 p.m.

• 8:46 p.m.

Customers at the Otisville station will connect with the buses at regularly scheduled train departure times. Buses will continue to Middletown and connect with regularly scheduled trains for continued service.

Westbound: Buses will replace trains departing from Middletown to Port Jervis at:

• 10:59 a.m.

• 12:59 p.m.

• 3:16 p.m.

• 5:43 p.m.

• 7:51 p.m.

• 11:26 p.m.

• 2:40 a.m.

This weekend’s service change will help ensure the on-going reliability and safety of Port Jervis Line trains.

NYC Transit Memorial Day 2016 Service Info

Here is the NYC Transit service plan info for the upcoming Memorial Day holiday weekend:

On Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, New York City Transit Subways will operate on a Sunday schedule. Customers are reminded to use the A, C, D or Q instead of the B and the J instead of the Z. Express service is not available on the 6 and 7. In addition, on Sundays, some subway routes are shortened.

The following diversions are in effect on Memorial Day through 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 31:

• 3 & 4 trains skip Saratoga Av and Pennsylvania Av in both directions.

• 4 trains are suspended in both directions between New Lots Av/Crown Hts-Utica Av and Bowling Green. 3 service will operate to/from New Lots Av all weekend replacing the 4 in Brooklyn.

• Downtown 4 & 6 trains run express from 125 St to Grand Central-42 St.

• 5 trains are suspended in both directions between Eastchester-Dyre Av and E 180 St.

• Queens-bound A & Brooklyn-bound C trains run express from 59 St-Columbus Circle to Canal St.

• E & F trains run local in both directions between Queens Plaza and Forest Hills-71 Av in Queens.

• Brooklyn-bound F trains are rerouted via the E line from Roosevelt Av to W 4 St-Wash Sq, and then via the A to Jay St-MetroTech.

• Manhattan-bound J trains run express from Myrtle Av to Marcy Av.

• L trains skip Wilson Av in both directions.

• Queens-bound N trains skip 86 St, Avenue U, Kings Hwy, 20 Av, 18 Av, New Utrecht Av, and Fort Hamilton Pkwy. N trains will stop at Bay Pkwy and 8 Av.

• Q trains run to/from Coney Island via the D and N in Brooklyn. Q trains are suspended in both directions between Kings Hwy and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr. Shuttle trains operate between Coney Island-Stillwell Av and Kings Hwy. Free shuttle buses operate between Kings Hwy and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr.

LIRR Memorial Day 2016 Service Info

Here is the LIRR service plan info for the upcoming Memorial Day holiday weekend:

MTA Long Island Rail Road will provide 10 additional early‐afternoon trains from Penn Station on Friday, May 27, for customers planning an early start to the Memorial Day Weekend. The LIRR will operate on a regular weekend schedule on Saturday and Sunday and on a holiday schedule on Memorial Day.

To help you get a jump on the Memorial Day weekend ‐ the unofficial start of summer ‐ Metro‐ North Railroad has extra early getaway service on Friday, May 27, and plenty of trains to get you to your destination during the long holiday weekend.

Friday, May 27

On Friday, May 27, there are 17 extra “getaway” departures from Grand Central Terminal between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., and one extra departure from Hoboken Terminal on Metro‐North’s Port Jervis Line. Some late p.m. peak trains will be canceled/combined due to reduced ridership in this time period. All extra and cancelled trains are shown in the current timetable.

New Haven Line

Nine extra “getaway” trains will depart from Grand Central at:

12:58 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, Westport, and all stations between Fairfield and New Haven.

2:01 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, Westport, and all stations between Fairfield and New Haven.

2:28 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, Westport, and all stations between Fairfield and New Haven.

2:31 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, New Rochelle, Larchmont, Mamaroneck and Harrison.

2:56 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, Stamford then all stations between Noroton Heights and South Norwalk.

2:59 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, New Rochelle, Larchmont, Mamaroneck and Harrison.

3:26 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, then all stations between New Rochelle and Harrison.

The 6:07 p.m. to New Haven and the 6:11 p.m. to Bridgeport are combined, departing Grand Central at 6:11 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street and all stations between South Norwalk and New Haven.

The 6:49 p.m. to New Haven will not operate.

The 7:09 p.m. to Harrison will not operate.

Harlem Line

Three extra “getaway” trains will depart from Grand Central at:

2:18 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, then all stations between Scarsdale and North White Plains.

3:13 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, then White Plains and North White Plains only.

3:34 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, White Plains, North White Plains, then all stations between Goldens Bridge and Southeast.

Five extra “getaway” trains will depart from Grand Central at:

2:38 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, Peekskill, Beacon, New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie.

3:11 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, then all stops between Tarrytown and Croton‐Harmon.

3:45 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, Peekskill, Beacon, New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie.

4:11 p.m., stopping at Harlem‐125th Street, Peekskill, Beacon, New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie.

The following trains from Grand Central will not operate:

The 5:29 p.m. train to Poughkeepsie

The 5:57 p.m. to Croton‐Harmon

The 6:12 p.m. to Poughkeepsie

Hudson Line Connecting Services:

The Hudson Rail Link will begin a peak level of buses at Spuyten Duyvil starting with the 2:20 p.m. train from Grand Central and at Riverdale starting with the 3:21 p.m. train from Grand Central.

The Haverstraw‐Ossining Ferry will have an early ferry trip that will meet the 3:11 p.m. train from Grand Central, which arrives in Ossining at 3:56 p.m. Since the 5:57 p.m. train will not operate, a 6:00 p.m. train from Grand Central, which arrives in Ossining at 6:53
p.m., will be met by the ferry. To accommodate this trip, the ferry will not meet the regular 6:22 p.m. train from Grand Central.

The Newburgh‐Beacon Ferry will have three early trips meeting the 2:43 p.m., 3:18 p.m. and 3:48 p.m. trains from Grand Central.

Port Jervis Line

The regularly scheduled departure from Hoboken at 2:41 p.m., stopping at Secaucus Junction, and all stops between Suffern and Middletown/Town of Wallkill, will be extended to stop at Otisville and Port Jervis. Customers from Manhattan wishing to connect to this train should be on the 2:29 p.m. departure from Penn Station‐NY to connect at Secaucus Junction. To accommodate this service, the 6:15 p.m. departure from Hoboken to Port Jervis will not operate.

Pascack Valley Line

The regularly scheduled Pascack Valley Friday‐only train will depart Hoboken at 2:58 p.m., and stop at Secaucus Junction, select stations in New Jersey, and Pearl River, Nanuet and Spring Valley. Customers from Manhattan who are wishing to connect to this train should be on the 2:51 p.m. departure from Penn Station‐NY to connect at Secaucus Junction. To accommodate this train, the 7:20 p.m. departure from Hoboken to Spring Valley will not operate.

Saturday, May 28, to Monday, May 30

On Saturday, May 28, and Sunday, May 29, a regular weekend schedule will be in effect.

On Monday, May 30, Memorial Day, a Sunday schedule will be in effect on the Harlem, Hudson and New Haven Lines, and a weekend schedule will be in effect on the Port Jervis and Pascack Valley Lines. An extra afternoon inbound train will depart Port Jervis at 4:09 p.m., making all
stops through Suffern, then run express to Secaucus Junction and Hoboken.

Customers wishing to travel to Penn Station‐NY should transfer at Secaucus Junction. Most connecting services will not operate on Memorial Day. However, the Tappan Zee Express will operate, on a Saturday schedule. Grand Central North will be closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Here is the Staten Island Railway service plan info for the upcoming Memorial Day 2016 holiday weekend:

MTA Staten Island Railway will operate its Early Departure Get Away schedule on Friday, May 27. This schedule means extra SIR trains will be added earlier in the afternoon beginning at 2:30 p.m. from the St. George Ferry Terminal. There will be one express train and one local train awaiting every boat until 7:50 p.m.
